Description

I have been so tempted to upload a real "crappy" capture. In fact I have 3 which may qualify, they were done from way down low on the bush floor. This is elephant dung from up closer than you may ever see. This 'shroom was heaving upward, so I assume there was still enough nourishment left for it to grow. A wonderful way nature has to recycle.

Brace yourself, here is a new series in the making, LOL.

Thank you for kind comments, critique and visits to my previous upload:

Shame Piet - by now you must feel really crappy because of all the crappy comments. Well here's another one!! I have also photographed a whole bunch of them on some elephant dung in the Kruger but it was on film and I don't have the negative anymore. It is fascinating to say the least. Your image is spot on wrt compo and POV. Truly crappy! :)))

Hahaha, you really did it this time. Love the explanation. Great pov. Yep, they DO eat a lot of fiber. What a pile of "crap". But, I don't think I would eat that mushroom. Aloha

Well, you certainly have a way with finding nature at it's best, or worst as the case may be. These are the main reasons why I don't eat 'shrooms: They grow in shit and fill my head with demons. Anyway, good capture.

I would of just thought it was a pile of hay and stepped in it lol, but make be the smell might of clued me in afterwards:)) Yes I remember those magic mushrooms PJ talked about, but I don't think this one looks magic. Great low in the bush shot Piet. Can't wait to see your other "crappy" shots.

Awesome 'Shroom! Not only is this up closer than I may ever see, it's up closer than I may ever want to get. LOL! ;) Actually, back in my Gardening days, I would go & get Zoo Doo, and Elephant dung was the best for 1st tilling!

The elephant must have had a full fill of fiber to achieve a dump like that. It barely looks digested. Cool DOF and mushroom in this unusual capture, Piet!
