Description

From a distance my Hollyhocks look like white ruffles on a petticoat. (Now the title sounds a bit risque'!) The only colors that grew in my garden this year were white and cream so I got a bit closer than normal with this photo. Thanks for the look and have a marvelous Monday. Jodie

Excellent control over the lighting, retaining all detail on the pure white petals. A lovely flower madam.

I love the macro - the closer the better for me. The details in one of these flowers are often overshadowed by the elegant petals so this really brings out both of its stellar qualities.

everyone should see this full-size: The layers and subtleties are gorgeous. It's not just the chasm in Hollyhock's petals where you capture its beautiful markings inside, and the lush "flower-bush" stamens, but you've managed to capture the edges of the petals like they were made of silk (ruffles), and the lighting is just perfect. You also captured the pale greens and yellows in the holly's chasm, deep shade colors & beautiful. A beautiful flower shot, Odie, so much more than meets the eye, and I hope everyone views it full-size because it's ravishing. Wonderful, delicate & sensuous at the same time.

That must make for a magical garden..... I can only imagine how unique and incredible all the whites and creams and off-whites must look on a grassy and rejuvenating background! This flower is ever so soft and beautiful..... a hint of yellow right in the centre..... just exquisite detail!
