Description

I couldn't resist. Have you seen The Music Man? If so, you'll know why I chose the title. These are my hens gathering for a drink, but they all reminded me of the humorous scene in the musical (The Music Man) where the Ladies of the town stand out on the walk gossiping! This is the song sung during and they all had very flamboyant feather hats. The lyrics are: "Pickalittle, talkalittle, Pickalittle, talkalittle,. cheep, cheep, cheep! Talk a lot, pick a little more!" (Yeah, I guess you had to be there, huh...sorry it is such a fowl joke!) LOL - oh well.. thanks for the visit! Postwork is a bit of sharpening and a vignette for fun. What a splendid array of old biddies, clucking away about all the barnyard goings-on, Jodie! A cluck-cluck here, a cluck-cluck there, everywhere a cluck-cluck. Great contrast of feathered colors and textures in this shot, young lady.

"so fowl and fair a day I have not seen..." (Macbeth, sort-of). Jodie, this is a beautiful picture. Full-size, they almost look like works of art...you have this way of capturing life as if it had posed for you. This is a beautiful circle of black, tan & white birds, with stunning red heads and a wonderful dance. And your background sets off their colors beautifully. I know you're capturing their chatter—and you did, the whole picture is play & chatter! But visually this is stunning; and there's no way you could have captured it but by total devotion to the moment, and an eye for how it peaks. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Pull out the trombones...I'm sold...

Pick-a-lot, pick a little more... I never think about chickens as being pretty (having grown up with the same), but these are beautiful creatures when captured like this by the lens. Great work once again.

Oh my dear! This is an incredibly comfortable and visually appealing shot. The tight grouping is fabulous. I feel so very "grounded" when I study this. Outstanding...no, STELLAR!

How did you manage to horde them together like this? It could have easily been an ad like "pickalittle, but they all taste good!" Cheap, cheap cheap? Well composed animal portrait.

Delightful image of this henfest. The natural and post work vignette makes such a lovely frame accentuating the subjects. Nicely done!
