I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

these smoke clouds can be a frightening thing when you are out in the savanna.

pretty cool shot.

We can do without the bush fire I think, hope no one was seriously injured in the accident. Excellent atmospheric shot Carin, great on the count down, 1 month to go, now thats a low number. Bravo!!!!!

Very dramatic and ominous, I can almost hear the crackling noise of twigs and branches catching fire. Too bad about your sinus! :( Why don't you tell us it was the annual get together of "some RR members" in Bloemfontein, lol!
MrsLubner
Except for the foliage (or lack of...) in this shot, it is most familiar to me, having lived in this type of air for nearly a month. It is much better now with only a hint of smoke smell lingering. It almost seems to be something out of a Stephen King novel...
timtripp
powerful image!

A definite "atmosphere" piece of work! Great shot Carin!! Hope your sinuses are getting better as the "alarming speed" of the countdown continues ... lol.

Awesome mood atmosphere in this interesting shot, Carin. Looks like a scene from a WWI or II battlefield.

Looks like it could be a tornado off in the distance as well. Great shot!!

I love the subdued colors of this, even if the cause isn't so nice...I hope you feel better soon, got to get that strength up!

Hard to believe it's only a month away now! :) Soon you'll be counting in the twenties. Whoo-hoo! Don't worry about getting caught up ... just take care of yourself!
