For You Dear Claudia *S* * * * The inspiration for this came from one of my favorite poems by Robert Frost called "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" I don't think this is quite what Frost envisioned when he wrote the poem, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind the artistic license :o)....and I think I'd give my right arm for a touch of Winter right now! ....well, maybe more than a touch....a blustering blizzard would be nice LOL Here's a youtube if you're interested : click And here's the poem : "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening" Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound's the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep. The Frost has a still quality, a moment where the earth goes silent and the traveler has intimations of eternity. But your piece has that plus your usual bursts and sweeps of eternity, swirling through your forest and taking bits of stars and moon with it. The forest is lit as much by the cosmos as by the snow, stars are everywhere, and it has your usual communion between the cosmos and the 'now', where even the trees seem to be lit from within (the edges glow as if light were shooting through their trunks right to their tips). I don't know what your average day looks like, but your soul must be bursting at the seams. A mystical moment; and of course a mythical creature stops by just to affirm this is a deeper reality. Eye-opening for the dog days of August...and magical.
