Description

You think I live here where there a lot of sugar cane is grown I be able to take a lot of shots like this when they planting. This is the first time I ever saw them plant and it is now. lol i was driveing from church going the back way which be country and not the highway. I saw these tracters and wagons in the cane field and lot of men in the field. I stop the truck turned around and went and park so I could talk to what look like the boss man out in the field. He saw me as I park and got out the truck with a camera and he came to talk to me. I told him I like to take photos and was just a hobby . he say "Yes" so i took a lot of photos. i broke number one rule to check my settings lol I had it on low speed and it wash out a lot of photos when the sun came out from the clouds. It did ok when the sun was behind the clouds. I lost over halve the shots and a lot of them would have been super. I did get some nice effects at the next image I will upload tomorrow on this subjuct. So please do not get excited to forget to check the setting of your camera. lol thanks for looking and comments. You can see my setting for the speed of the camera is slow for day time like this and action

This is really neat. I didn't know a thing about how they plant sugar cane. Or cotton. If we all document our own areas, we learn more from each other I think, and come up with much more interesting and unique work, besides. Thank you!

I've seen the harvest and the burning of the fields but never the planting. This is new.

I don't know why I didn't see more cane back home. After all, I didn't live far from Sugarland, Tx., but this is the first time I've seen this. Excellent shot. It shows something extraordinary. Your capture is great. BTW, I am always excited and just start shooting without thought...some say that is a lot like my mouth. LOL

it still turned out really good .. they look so hard at work. You know, if you shoot in RAW, the over/under exposed shots are a snap to fix in photoshop!

I had absolutely no idea how sugar canes are planted. I thought at first, they were harvesting. Thanks for the info and the visual lesson, Jock. I learned something new, today.

Very interesting capture of the sugar cane reapers at work, Jock. I used to get excited and forget to check the settings on my camera, resulting in blurred and overexposed shots. But experience is a great teacher, and it rarely happens anymore.

Never in my life did I expect to see that this is how they plant sugar cane! I always thought maybe from seed or something, or maybe the crop comes back every year the way perrenial flowers do. This is amazing Jock, and I can't wait for tomorrow's post!

I decided to reset my camera after having it on something other than normal, because in the heat of the moment it is easy to forget. I never seen it being planted also.excellent and informative capture
