Description

Here you see the tractor they uses to cover the cane in about two feet of dirt. As you see the background is messed up from the camera movement but you note the trator and the part that is behind the tractor is good and sharp looking. you will note too the trator wheels have movement and the dirt as it is turned over have camera movement too. The cane is cover with 2 feet of dirt and you see there is a roller on the machine that will make the top of the roll flat. this cane planet now will be ready i think in two years if I got it right. or they talking about it takes a year for the mother cane as they call it to be ready to plant and then be harves next year. This field jush happen to be by the sugar mill which i was real happy with. It added to the images I think. The mill is there and a lot of farmers have to bring in the cane far away. not sure of the distance. I did not look up on the net about sugar cane which i may today but just got the imformation from people and some I been knowing about. This is the first time I saw them plant. i will go when i have time to the sugar mill to ask if i can take photos there I at coffee shop now but will have to leave soon like 7pm so if i did not get to you galley I will tommor . I running behind now thanks for looking and comments

It think of this place in the world, the heat, the humidity and how the cane must need a warm damp place to get started. I think of them coming back like you do to the cafe for the lemonade or maybe a beer somewhere. I think of the music on their radios in their trucks. And how they like to eat jambalaya. It all comes together for me in photos like this. Great photo, my friend!

Fantastic shot Jocko, love how you got the slight motion blur on the wheels and rollers. Very educational series here, there aren't many people that have seen sugar cane planting before. Another first for me anyhow. Superb work and a great narrative, you know how I love one of those. Lol. Bravo!!!!!

Agricultural equipment has it's own mechanical logic. Looks like it has plastic hoppers for the seed. Corrosion used to be a big problem with galvanized flex pipe seed ducts and the hoppers. that is because they put fertilizer in them also.
