The term "sub rosa," literally "under the rose," is a term used to indicate secrecy and confidentiality. Although one of the meanings of the white rose is innocence and purity, the older traditional meaning is that of secrecy and silence. (An interesting juxtaposition, wouldn't you agree?) A white rose has been carved or painted over doorways and on ceilings of rooms, as far back as Roman times, to remind participants that what was said in the room stayed there. A sort of "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" reminder throughout antiquity. There's no hidden meaning here ...
