Description

In the Japanese Garden at the Arboretum. This is a flowering plum or flowering cherry, I'm not sure which. It's too late in the year for flowers, and I forgot to take a picture of the bark. THAT was clever! Oh well. I was so taken with the natural backlighting (of course) that I'm sure I wasn't thinking of anything else. (Full view is like being there.)

They don't look like cheery leaves to me; I'm guessing plum. But all that matters is how pretty this is. I love that light. Bravo!

WOW! So beautiful and the most lovely light.... hmmme it could also look like an orange tree. Or atleast a kind of. On the other hand....I am not sure you are able to se that much light through the leaves of an orange tree. They are thick.

Cosine says they don't look like cherry leaves to him, but they do look like cherry leaves to me. Our local supermarket has a row of cherry trees right along the disabled parking bays and I park my car beneath them all the time. In summer I usually grab a couple off and eat them. Excellent capture Tara, the backlight filtering through makes for a great shot. Bravo!!!!!
