Description

Another beautiful scorching hot day today, so much so that I had to take a little break from the sun for a while and filled the time wandering around the villa taking a few photos to remember it by, among which was this one. As I'm in France I'll use the native phrase and call this one a 'trompe l'oeuil' (trick of the eye). Essentially it's a photo of a painting, with part of my dad's bedroom reflected in it. I was just messing around but realised from the right angle it might make for an interesting compo.. I like the painting in the first place and thought I'd try and make something of it - it's of a lady sipping a drink at a bar, and I think in her right hand she's smoking a cigarette. However my idea was to position it such that it looked like she had her hand on/near the balcony's reflection, enjoying a drink while in a position to be able to take in the view... Judging by the album I've been putting together this evening I think there'll be a fair few uploads to come from this French adventure, so will probably be a bit more regular on here in the coming week as I have the capacity to edit them on a swish family laptop, though don't expect many landscape shots until after my return as the best will need converting to hdr, software I don't have to hand at the moment... (and do please excuse any apparent lack of 'finish' as I'm also without a few bits of editing software I'd normally use..)
