Description

Hi all, thank you for the comments and information on my last upload. Very much appreciated. Here is what I looked at today when I ate my sandwich lunch. It is the covered bridge over the Swift River in Albany, NH. We just bid to replace the steel roofing and lost the bid to another local contractor. I hope to get a photo of it next month when the roof is new and maybe some fall color will be in the leaves by then. Thanks for looking. -GB-

Covered bridges seem to carry an air of romance with them and that was LONG before the Bridges of Madison County came along. :-) Fabulous shot.

...sehr schönes Foto! Solche Brücken gibt es bei uns leider nicht! Schön, dass ich eine auf einem Foto von Dir bewundern kann! … very beautiful photo! There are not such bridges with us unfortunately! Beautifully that I can admire one in a photo of you!

Nice shot. But I cannot understand the reason for covering a bridge either, if the road before and after it is open.

The bridges are all wood. The roof helps to protect and add length of life to the timbers and planks. Thus the covered bridges.

I'm heading up there in October. I have every Covered Bridge in the United States plotted in my GPS. Anyway, this is an excellent shot of this bridge and the POV makes it very interesting. Well done!

Very nice photo. The full size image is even better. I would love to have a house spanning a river like this - I could fish from my livingroom. :-)
