Behind the talking men is a completely restored Douglas DC-3 built in 1941 in California. It was delivered to Howard Hughes for his Trans World Airlines (TWA) that same year.
The markings on this old bird (NC1945) are the way they actually were during its' service in the WWII years.
This plane's home is right here in Kansas City in the Airline History Museum at the downtown airport. It shares hangar space with a completely restored Lockheed Constellation and a Martin 404 among other "good ole airline stuff".
