Description

Fred 255 posted a shot of this same spot today, please look at his gallery. It amazes me how different artists look at things so differently. The 199 steps lead down to the harbour at whitby, From the abbey atop. My David has gone back to work in London today.... I miss him. Thank you for looking and for treasured comments. Hugs. Diane.

Going down looks easy. Is there a trolly back up? Great view and capture, especially w/the gull. ;-)

This view of old stone is really historic. Where I am nothing is over 30 or 40 years old and most is less than 20. New things go up weekly.

This is wonderful with the sunshine and the shadows across the steps. I could never take that many steps I would have to ride on the wings of the gull. A most beautiful of shot DI. I think you captured it all. Chocolate Hugs:0)bonita

WOW WHat an amazing pov and capture with the bird in flight like he is on his way down those stairs !!!! love this composition and the colors here !!! that is allot of steps !_ don't need a gym there in that town!!!! i am completely fascinated too with how two artists are at the same place and see it all so differently (i go out with Georgy and we see very different things in the same place mind boggling in fact!!!)

Beautiful and full of light from your POV on the top. David's shot from the base has a mysterious and somewhat dark feeling to it. Like 'em both but you are right...atmosphere and mood is quite different. Bill

I love the view from here .. and I'm totally amazed at how each inch of real estate is used, houses just packed in layers! What wonderful winding little streets there must be down at the end of the stairs! And would you look at that gull, taking the easy way down by flying! I like that there's that bench there to the right, for those who tire climbing up or down!

Great Shot Diane !! I believe that the seagull would rather soar down than walk down the 199 steps [^^], Seems you had perfect timing on this shot ! Great photo!! [^_^] Cheers, Roger
