Description

Sorry for the delay in this series. Exactly what transpired between Ninshubar and Enki is not clearly known and yet what was said critically affects the outcome of the story. I had to think about the dialogue for several days. Also the scene was a real bear to render, but lessons learned from Heathcroft made it possible. So thanks again Dave, you have no idea how much you helped on this one! Shrinkers keeps me on my toes. Having been tossed from the throne room for demanding that the Royal family settle the fight between Ishtar and Ereshkigal, Ninshubar turns to the last deity who can help her; her Grandfather Enki. Enki, God of Wisdom and Knowledge is the Grandfather of all three Goddesses. Enki grants Ninshubar an audience with himself and his vizier, Isimud, the royal messenger. Isimud is the only being who can safely travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. Oh, Grandfather, if you do not help me I swear I will pass through the seven gates of the Land of No Return myself! I will go to war with that bitch Ereshkigal to rescue my lady! Ninshubar! Stop it! Your plan makes no sense! I have seen you do battle my dearest granddaughter and I know that you are both brave and resourceful beyond measure. But war is not the answer! Ninshubar, you must realize that in her domain Ereshkigal always wins. You cannot go there. More war will not lead to Ishtar's return and you too will be trapped. Even I cannot enter Ereshkigal's domain and return. Isimud, listen to me. Only you can enter the Underworld and return. You must go to Ereshkigal and recover Ishtar. Tell Ereshkigal that she has made her point, that the laws that divide the living and the dead must be upheld. But these laws cannot destroy the living world. A balance must be struck. It is now up to Ereshkigal to set the terms of Ishtar's release and allow life to return to the world. Ninshubar, I know Ereshkigal, she is demanding and harsh but ultimately she is just. Ishtar's passion led her to violate Ereshkigal's domain and now she must pay the price of justice. Anu and Ninhursag were foolish not to intervene. But even Gods are not always wise! But I am and I will end it. Ereshkigal will set her price and then the balance of life and death, of passion and justice, will be restored. Only then will Ishtar and the seasons be returned to earth. 13th in a series Full size is best Enki is M3 morphed by me with Everyday Male textures and Pharos clothes at DAZ Isimud is Creatures Morphs and Everyday Male textures and Nothar clothes at DAZ Ninshubar is V3 morphed by me with DMs Night Fever Suzie Q textures Scene is Cloisters at DAZ

What a lovely render! The expressions are perfect, moving, very well depicted. I love the reflective floor, and the hint of smoke behind. Enki and Isimud are excellently depicted, their facial features perfect for their character. Ninshubar is simply beautiful, her passion clearly seen on her face and pose. I am grateful and honored to have this redner dedicated to me. Thank you.

There's lot of expression here both facial and in body language, something always hard to achieve. The image sits well and us super organised and presented, with very careful attention to detail and postwork. The back story fills us in on the 'play' and really thats all one can ask of a good fantasy image and post! Dave

The story is becoming easier to understand as you go along - your storytelling is really improving as well as your artistry! This is yet another really excellent composition with wonderful lighting and effects - good job!

Very expressive illustration to your storytelling. I think posing and expressions have always been a strength of yours and you are getting better everyday. My only nitpick would be on the fact that the three characters in the scene really aren't interacting. There is no eye-contact between them, no sense that they are aware of each other's presence. Enki seems to be looking at Ereshkigal but she is not at all in Isimud line of vsion (I can't figure out what he's looking at) and she's turning her back to both of the men. That seems a little odd. Otherwise very strong picture. Well done!

Ah, the story and your art are both evolving. This must have been a difficult scene to compose. Despite kitzie's comments, I think the image is excellent overall. The posing, lighting, and expressions are superb, and it is clear that you paid a lot of attention to the details. I can also understand why the narrative took you a while. It is an awkward scene. Thank goodness for Enki, eh? Just goes to show you, sometimes even the gods need some "adult supervision".

A beautiful mix of props creating the set. The lighting is wonderful and the characters play out the story well. Good stuff!
