Description

It seems strange but my favourite conifer is not an evergreen. It is the larch who's needles turn yellow then drop off in the winter. They make wonderful bonsai subjects in almost any style too. These trees were taken on the shore of Buttermere, a truly wonderful part of the world. I took two images and stitched to make a pano view and did the painterly effect with a filter in PS. Do try full size? So 200 up, I never would have believed it. I was a member for 2 years before I dare post any of my own work, so glad I started! You people are so friendly and a joy to know.

Nice pano Kevin, it reminds me of those early Jigsaws back in the 60's they were always so damned hard to do :)...The effects work well on this, Another neat effect on forestry shots, is to take the lasso tool, and make random selections around the ground, holding the shift key to add another one here and there, then feather this set of selections, then call up the hue and satch box, and use the Hue slider to create a beautiful carpet of Blue bells :)

Why ever did you wait for so long? A wonderful image. I like what you have done to it. Larches are one of my favourites too. The graceful drooping new foliage on the branches looks so fragile. Congrats on your 200 Kevin! Doesn't time fly?
