Description

this is a raw version of a test of the skin shader i was working on before bagginsbill released VSS and its default skin shader, my hair shader at the time, the flat diffuse hair texture i've used since, a transmap for the hair and corset, and texture for the corset. i definitely learned a little about texturing, and what i'm not good at. it uses dphoadley's awesome V4 remap, Blackhearted's Irina texture, a bump and specular map derived from the Irina texture, Quarker's Radiant Jaguar Hair and Hongyu's first corset for V4. i think i've gotten more realistic results since then, largely due to following bagginsbill's threads and using his shaders and tools. i hope you agree when i post my later works. much thanks to david, and for all who view and comment! the postworked version should be up soon.

Please let me have the privilege of being the first to respond! This is awesome! What a lovely utilization of my remap! I'm deeply humbled; I'm a craftsman, but you're an artist! DO keep up the good work. DPH

love the stockings, the panties in the crotch area look like they need adjustment... I like the pose and character and lighting/render.

I especially like the hair on the top and left side. The texture, the highlights, really good. On the right side though, near the area between neck and chest, the hair seems strange, not natural. The skin looks really nice. I really like her face morph, very natural looking. I like her pose, except for the right forearm and hand. It doesn't seem natural to me, especially the fingers, how they bend in the last joint. Regarding her outfit, the thing that striked me first as non-natural was the right strap (left on the image), on the hip area. It makes a very sharp angle, as if it's glued to the skin. In reality, the strap would move away from the skin in this pose. The stockings look really nice but I have a feeling that in her right knee and shin it's too far away from the skin. Regarding the lighting, although realistic and technically excellent, IMHO it's not artistically interesting. It just covers the scene and the model in a too homogeneous way, withougt enhancing any special area. It's not an actor in the scene, it's just there. Probably this feeling will change when you apply postwork and maybe change the background. I'm really looking forward to see the postworked version! :-)

as Rutra said. perhaps another POV and you don't have this angle on her right strap and it would be more artistic ;) I really like your textures. perhaps you could create a displacement map to bump out the black parts. And you could experiment a bit with the lightlocations and colours. Perhaps that helps to get the corset more volumetric. For example one smooth red/pink/purple light could bring the color to life. The shader and reflections for the corset are great!!!
