Hello Renderosity Community!
Â
I call myself Billcody, but my real name is Wolfgang. I am living in Germany, in Berlin, and I was born here in 1950. We are a tribe of two here: My older brother Sig, you know him under his nick "junge1" and I am "junge2" in the row....
Â
My real profession is Geologist; I am specialized in contaminated soils, pollution, stuff like this, especially in old industrial areals. Berlin has a lot of these.... My hobbies are music, photography, railroading and history and here especially the old industrial history of Berlin, the old manufactories with their brickstone architecture of our ancestors. I like to stroll through the urban jungle to search old historical buildings. My cardiologist is happy.......
I' m a photographer since 2006, when my beloved wife Harriet bought me my small Nikon 8700 bridge camera. This opened a brand new world. Yes, I photographed before for many years but the results were .....hmmm... not good.... I was not an aficionado, this began with the digital area. I use the Nik8700 till today......
Am I an Artist? I' m not sure, YOU decide with your votings and comments. I call myself a "Hobby Photographer" - and I like it! I try to do things well.

I have wanted to take photo's inside a church at night Wolfgang, I have an idea; to set the camera up on a tripod in the centre isle like this, with no lights on inside the church, or very low light at least. Then with the camera on bulb setting to go down the side isles and fire different coloured flash off in different area's. The trouble is that over here in the UK they lock up the churches at night, they never did when I was younger. The other thing is I can not run around now, the camera would shut off before I got down the first isle. Just a dream I had. So for the above reason I like this new take on this image, it has atmosphere to it. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

@Jeff: I am not sure what we did - it was taken by day as the others, not by night. Maybe this pic was an only an accident. My Coolpix often tends to shoot with a flashlight, this could make me mad. I often put the coolpix on the ground for a long shot (4 seconds). The effect is cool - looking at the church through the eyes of a church mouse....

I like the detail to the brickwork on the pillars and floor-tiles, in fact this lighting has enhanced the detail wonderfully all around. great capture Wolfgang! Excellent POV and excellent work.

Just popped this open on a nice, big 22" montitor. Look great in full-size. Of course that's the only way to view most images on RR...don't you agree. Congrats for being chosen for Week #39 in LWITG. Well deserved. Bill

bmac, yes, full views are a rule to me! BillCody, a full view is good for this fine shot of yours. We just returned from the UK and were almost overrun with gothic churches..lighting is difficult in any circumstance in such places. Yet, you did a fine job here and the "newer" look of the church compared to the quite old ones I saw is pleasing..any idea how old this church might be? Good work and glad to see in LWITG.
