What a cute chap you met on your walk. He doesn't seem worried about his tongue so why should I be. Hope those sinuses get better quickly, they are a real problem.

My daughter has a pug, with a fairly normal tongue. More then I can say for most people I know, and she definitely thinks everyone loves her. And they do, must be the nature of the beast. However, I had a Lhasa Apso, which I purchased in Tibet, that was literally the dog from Hell. Excellent images, Richard!!!!!

super collage of this little fella...is he in a stroller because of age problems or is it just because his tongue is so long that it hits the ground when he walks?

What you tell is incredible. This poor guy is somewhat disabled, but he is a very kind pet and is much loved by his owners, so he enjoys a happy life. Some humans look like him, some are good guys too… and others unpleasant! Thanks for sharing and hoping you very soon in better health my friend!

Crazy looking dog that tounge is just wrong looking lol. Breeders can be well kinda crazy. I wonder if they ever know when to stop. Your series certainly captures the subject well.

durleybeachbum and dbrv6 have it right. Breeders have gone nuts trying to "perfect" their breeds. The results are sad, so many puppies that don't meet the AKC specs on the perfect specimen of a given breed are culled. So many live on with genetic defects that should never have happened. The BBC had an excellent series on what all this breeding has done to dogs. This poor fella is a good example, but also a lucky dog in that he wasn't culled, he found a home with folks who love him. End of rant. And yes, you caught him well, such a happy old boy he is!
