Description

This is the same species of Bee Fly that I posted on September 20, Bombylius major. I just had to laugh when I saw the two hind legs dangling out behind him! I don't know how he can fly without getting them caught in his wings, lol. All the sites say they are hard to approach, so I guess I was lucky. Thank you very kindly for your recent views and comments!

Like the two shots and the perspective gained by including the flower. The term capture is very appropriate here. Nice work. Bill

You did well as these bee flies do hover some but seem to dart about from flower to flower as if on a timed mission. Excellent display

This is such an interesting little creature and you have certainly captured him well. He looks like the working end of a tiny bottle brush, or he makes me think of a soft and cuddly finger puppet ...he just makes my imagination run wild.

You certainly have a good variety of little critters Maria, do you happen to live near Leeco? #;0) he has a great variety as well. I think he lives in area 51 or what ever they call it. Excellent macro, superb clarity and detail. Bravo!!!!!
