Description

The Rose of YORK MINSTER. Please Zoom ! After William the Conqueror's 'Harrying of the North' brought a small wooden church here to virtual distruction, The Norman archbishop, Thomas of Bayeaux built his great Cathedral here between 1080 and 1110. This was modified and extended in the mid Twelth century by Archbishop Roger de Pont L'Eveque, who built a magnificent new quire. Have a great Sunday.

Nice one Alan, did you take this one on Friday, it was a great day here with lots of sun, I hope it was like that for you, and that you all had a good time. If you can with so many tagging along, I'd much sooner it be just a couple or three. Lol. You know what I mean! I wonder if you took this from the spot you pointed out when we went there, I am still planning another trip to the same place, but round the castle museum I think. Excellent capture, I would like to get this rose from the inside, but they are a load of robbers, £9.50 to look round a church. Thinking about it though Middy charges a fiver, and its only a tenth of the size. Lol. Superb work mate. Bravo!!!!!
