Description

I rode to the beach again today; but it was a very different kind of day. It was very foggy, I couldn't see the ocean till I was almost there, and the pier was invisible. The coolest thing though was that the waves were that perfect shape and I caught this one exactly the way I wanted to. Oh,and they were also bigger than they've been, this one was maybe 6-8 feet. Not huge by some standards, but still impressive. zoomer

Oh wow ... look at that! I love the smoothness of the surface of that wave, and the shadow the wave makes on the water below is fantastic!

It's getting tubular. Hanging ten is out, shooting the curl will morph into overhead waves.

Something I have never done myself Marilyn, I had a bad water experience when I was a child and do not like going into open air water, land locked or sea. I have done in the past but have been very wary of going out of my depth, always staying where I can touch bottom. This is one of those images though that says, 'go on, get out there and give it your all.' It is very tempting and inviting. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

A truly remarkable POV in evidence here in this capture, Marilyn! Love the DOF and perspective, plus the overhang of the wave as it takes form.

This is a really remarkable shot, Marilyn. The curl of the wave is equally balanced by the foam in the lower left.

Oh, such crisp, deep blue, and I love the contrast of the foam, the shadow, and the whole composition of the image. Really top notch work!
