Description

Hmm another pic very similar to one of Rich's again today but it can't be helped if we visited some of the same places this summer =) At least today's pic offers a slightly different vantage point - in fact you can see the little 'observation area' from where this pic was taken in Rich's shot (the little concrete bit to the right of the rightmost post). Our return leg was rather hurried as we decided to leave a day later than originally planned so that we could enjoy an extra day's lounging in the sun by the pool =) So unfortunately didn't get much time to explore the bridge other than jumping out to take a few quick snaps, but it is a dominating fixture in the valley, and seemed to me to complement the landscape rather than screaming 'eyesore', in fact I was in awe of its sheer scale, and quite like the design too... in case you didn't know I think it's the tallest bridge in the world... Am a little behind on commenting/galleries due to just having emerged from 'freshers week', being without broadband, and having a world of admin things to sort out, but going to try and resolve that as the day goes on ;) Adam

Great work, Adam! I like the juxtaposition of the winding road (biker heaven) and the straight bridge. The reason it is there I suppose! Cheers, Clive

Un cadrage très interressant ainsi qu'à l'heure où tu l'as prise (midi, il me semble du fait de l'ombre qui se projette sous le pont)- excellent

Beautiful capture, I like the winding road beneath it and the soaring verticals...

The combination of cement and earth is great. Straight lines and man-made structure with the curving meanderings of dirt roads over hills all make for a very interesting shot.

Now here I first see the contrast between blue and green due to the brilliant colors. I notice the fanning of the bridge supports in this where I didn't see them right away in the B&W. The angled slash of the bridge is still very prominent and adds so much motion to the peaceful scenery. Very interesting how the color can change the perspective for the viewer. Thank you for both so we can compare two excellent images. Which do you prefer? :-)
