Description

We took a weekend trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida this past weekend, and partook on another venture in getting up in the dark of night in order to see another sunrise from Santa Rosa Island. The wake-up call was painful, but a few cups of coffee later the payback was absolutely delightful, and not just from a photographer's viewpoint. Just being there while staring at the horizon when suddenly you see the leading edge of the sun you realize it was all worth the loss of some much needed sleep. This was taken just a few minutes after sunrise. As soon as the sun made its appearance these one-man paddle boats slowly left the shore and made their way out into the golden early morning. It must have been an amazing perspective from their vantage point as well; the sky, water, and some birds flying around. And of course looking back you see the shoreline getting farther and farther away. But my perspective from the shore was good enough for me this time. Very little post work here; just some slight contrast adjustment. My partner Leah, AKA Lil 'Sizzler here at Renderosity filled up the disk on her camera too. So for the next few days we'll both be posting some photographs from this beautiful Gulf Coast sunrise. Thanks much! marshall

Very, very nice. I just did some of the same sunrise gazing but from Montauk Point at the extreme eastern end of Long Island, NY. Absolutely agree with you...the early get-up is well worth the time for a photographer or a fisherman. And we're going fishing too...just with a camera rather than a hook. Love the colors and composition. Bill
