I've seen a lot of these are fire trucks but this is the first dump bodied I have seen. A more private reception for a collectible. The paint has suffered.

My father bought one of these brand new right before WWII. I remember him telling he had to catch a train down to St. Paul, MN from our home in ND where he picked it up. This was back in summer of 1941. He was very lucky because once the war started, they stoppped building vehicles for private use. We used that truck throughout his lifetime and all the time I was on the farm. It is still out there and I think it still runs. It was very dependable and has hauled many many loads of grain to the elevator and many many bales of hay and huge loads of hay into the hay yard over the years. The thing I hated about it was that it was black and got extremely hot to the touch in the summer. I remember burning my hands on a fender or hood many times in a moment of forgetfulness. Great capture of a great old truck! It brings back many many happy memories!
