The curiouity about this place starts with the interesting construction and moves to the peek through the window and then on to all sorts of things on that porch. The bits of color, reflections and textures are excellent, too. Very nice work!

goodness, moonrancher took the words right out of my mouth! the rustic appeal of this visual vignette is the only other thing i was about to laud... as always, you've managed to find an already appealing subject and enrich it - much as your presence here in rr does for our little art community, and your friendship does for me in real life... (takes feathered cap off and bows gallantly) thanks so much, and have a truly wondrous and happiest of weekends too! michael

Very appealing image. I found myself zooming in and carefully examining the notches on the ends of each log. The craftsmanship is impressive. And these logs look truly old. This is a very interesting subject...well chosen and captured. Bill

Wonderful pov and the items shown lend to a very interesting capture. It has a comfortable feel to it and yet makes you think about hard work all at the same time.

I have a hard time reconciling chinked log cabins with glass double hung window sashes. My history talked about oiled paper windows. Nothing like the warm light of oiled paper on a dirt floor. Maybe only soddys had them.

An intriguing capture Lynell, lots going on here, a very rustic feel to it, the reclaimed timbers with those massive nails in them. Nice textures as well with the walls of the building, I would love to have a wnder round this place, see what other tidbits there are to be found. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

Lovely image and close up view of this charming spot. So many interesting things to see. I'm curious about the barrel full of what looks to be broom straw. Very nice image!

a beautiful restful capture of a very complex mix of textures and objects, and it somehow is very 'you'. By which I mean, in its detail, the eloquence of its aged wood, its gentle combination of things (window, barrel, grain, the paraphernalia of a porch, etc, etc.) and in the sense of peace from it all. Restful shadows included. You have a natural affinity for these kinds of captures, and they love you back probably because you infuse such love into them. And you definitely should be a poet laureate for wood in all its incarnations. A very complex shot, but very simple. "Reflecting" is the perfect title. Beautiful, Lynell. And btw, no surprise that the cubs have once again fallen in the post-season, and I'll give you the victory with reluctance, but all LA fans should have a moment of mourning for long-suffering Chicago fans. Then you can all laugh and have a big party...
