Description

My sister's front yard, this is the grandpa of all the palm trees she has. She did NOT plant them; if she had they'd dead. My mom could kill a plastic plant and my sister inherited that gene!!

When they get to this size they don't need much looking after. It reminds me of an afro, lol. Excellent capture, love that sky. Bravo!!!!!

When I was in California I could only distinguish the date palms of Indio which this looks like from the coca palmosa cocoanut palms of Pasadena and Beverly Hills. Florida palms include many more types and I'm sure so did California. On the East coast lethal yellow did kill almost all the cocanut type palms.

they'd dead? Fine silhouetting in this capture of a tree I am most familiar with down here in Southern California. In fact, I do believe I've already posted a few pics of them on Renderosity.

For some reason I keep seeing one of the Muppets in this....I don't know the name, but the one that lives in the trash can...anyway, I really like this shot, it looks to be a very healthy palm tree, and the sky colors are marvelous!

This has nothing to do with the picture, but I read MrsRatbag's comment and immediately started thinking of the Muppet song, "Mahna Mahna" and now it's stuck in my head and, somehow, it fits with this image. As for this image, it's a gorgeous piece of work. I love the simplicity of it, and the crisp qualities it possesses. It also reminds me of "Wild Palms" a short lived comic that appeared in DETAILS Magazine in the 1990s; it was made into a rather lurid mini-series, starring Angie Dickenson, Jim Belushi, Kim Catrall, Robert Loggia...and others. Whenever I look at lone palm trees, I'm reminded of that miniseries, and the wonderful palm-tree tattoo that it inspired, though the tattoo isn't on my body. Oh well...Great work! As always!
