Description

Haven´t posted in quite some time, and thought i´ld introduce the reason for that. It´s a project i´ve been working on for some time now and finally completed. The Sacre Coeur basilica in Paris. The modeling was quite an undertaking and more or less a huge jigsaw puzzle as i had to rely on tourist shots of various quality for reference and had to do a lot of guessing on what some parts looked like. For the scene, i decided to keep the surroundings simple, rather than filling it up with all sorts of junk as i would normally do. :) The entire lot is modeled with Cinema4D R10.5, apart from a few Poser characters for the statues, and rendered with Maxwell. Postwork in Photoshop. A work in progress-thread for the model can be found here for those interested. Hope you enjoy. :)

This is really a modeling masterpiece. The render is stunning... I guess you tried different lighting condition and POV angles, it would be no bad idea to show them as well...

Yes, a very nice job. How were you able to get rid of all the tourists? ; ) The time and effort must have been substantial to modelall of those details so meticulously, right down to the patina on the statues. I even love the details of the birds and the contrail of the jet heading to or from Charles De Gaulle. Now all you have to do is swing that camera around and show us the sprawl of Paris or peak down to the Moulin Rouge below. ; )
