Description

Years back when I was on the monastic path, Sarasvati was picked as my 'ideal'. She was chosen because she was goddess of inspiration, voice & the arts. I often wondered what her heart would look like, so tonight I tried to 'paint' it! Part 2: Thursday I had an accident, so I can't draw for a bit, which means I'm forced to make digital art (which I rarely do). But it worked out, I think, 'cause I couldn't have drawn this with pens & pencils...
* * * * * *
This is for Kimarie (kimariehere) who had a birthday yesterday. Her photos are shimmering & dramatic yet totally intimate--"cosmic cameos" I like to call them. She always gives the feeling that radiant powers are looking on. So, noticing in her gallery that it was her birthday, I ran to Photoshop, sent it to Kimarie's page & said: "You're on PS! I got no drawings, no paintings: Create!"
Happy Birthday, Kimarie! I hope my little PS venture suits your day! Lots of hugs & inspiration to you, and keep coaxing illumination out of the cosmos! Happy birthday & many more! Mark (PS: Sarasvati was wife of Brahma, a Hindu god. But trust me, he was nothing without her...) (PPS: Full-size is a bit subtler)

This really looks as a crystal heart, like a geode with a very beautiul inside. A great BD gift for Kimmrs, I am sure she will love it! You can let your drawing hand heal in peace. Digital works fine for you!

WOW! What an interesting heart, Mark. I like the fluffy look and the colors are just fantastic. What on earth has happened to your hand? I do hope it is nothing serious. But I do agree with Gun, that you handle the digital media so well, that you can let your other hand heal in peace. :)

I thought it was a tweaked photo of a geode, too. Lovely work, Mark. The colors and the texture is really beautiful. And I love the title. This heart has a golden core.... So nice of you to create this for Kimmie. She's a real sweetheart. Happy Birthday Kimmie! -M :^) PS Sorry to hear of your accident. Get well soon, my friend.

What a great idea for Kimmers! It does look like a heart with all the ventricles and colors. The edges glow like the warmth from inside is sneaking out! Very clever and way to go in photoshop!!

This is a superb work of art and an equally superb dedication. I look at this and I see a number of different, and unrelated things; that is always what draws me to art and how I judge it as "good" at least for myself. I look at this and see the gorgeous, crystalline core of a geode; but if I blink and think oh-so-slightly in a different direction, I see what reminds me of a cat-scan, or a sonographic image of some intimate organ. In yet another light, there's an astronomical quality to this image as well, and it's that diversity of "modes" that really draws me to this. I like this quite a lot. It has a lot of soul. Great work!
