Description

It's been my experience in life that true friends are hard to come by. People with whom you can trust to share your work or ideas, vent, grieve, or laugh without the fear of being judged or manipulated are rare. Despite my lack of experience in digital art, I've found a good friend in e-brink. Not only is he a talented professional artist, he's a caring and empowering person as well who often encourages beginners. So, this image is for him. If you've never visited his gallery, please do. And check out his Web sites also. He's a gifted and often humorous writer. I'm struggling with a new machine and OS, and sometimes am intimidated by some of the talent and skill level I see here. But, it was during one of those gorgeous fall days when I was letting go of my own ego and feeling grateful for all the good things in my life that I decided it was time to say thank you to e-brink for believing in me early on and for encouraging me to grow and in some cases just endure some very dark moments in my life. Thanks also goes to e-brink for being so generous with his time and talent and for inspiring so many others out here. I love reading all of his insightful and often witty comments in others' galleries. Usually I'm dumb-struck and tongue-tied when I see good work. My relationship with writing has been put on hold. I've been lurking here at Rendo for four years, and finally found the courage to post last Halloween. It'll be my one year anniversary here soon, so, I intend to celebrate by posting some fun images about my favorite holiday. Until then, this one's for you, e-brink! Thank you for helping me to believe in myself. Thank you ALL for your support and generous comments in my gallery. I don't care about ratings, what matters to me is one visit, one comment, or any constructive criticism that will help me grow. It makes my day in fact. I hope to keep improving at all of this. For instance, on my new Mac this image looks bright and crisp, on my PC laptop's monitor, it looks dark and drab no matter how many times I render it. This last render took exactly 24 hours. I decided to let you be the judge. So please me know if you can't see it? Free props: easel by spedler, annotated book by Trekkie girl (though I tweaked it to look more like a blank book with an entry), Morphing umbrella by SYNTRIFID (all found here in the free section); Triste mask by Mindvision-GDS at RuntimeDNA in The Bride of Shocktober free section. All else is Poserworld and Daz. I rendered the sky in Bryce. Thanks for looking!

I think to dedicated your own works of art to another person is the greatest gift of all, because it comes from the heart. This is a beautiful gesture and you have done it so well. Awesome!!

This is such a wonderful and well done scene and I like that it is told without people in it just because I think it opens the story even more, we know they are near, the coffee is hot :) A beautiful way to express friendship and a very meaningful dedication, really nice work :)

Your words are extremely powerful and valuable, as is your lovely image--- friends in general, not to mention "true" and sincere ones are very hard and rare to come by... A lovely dedication to a special person, it seems. Excellent depth and POV of your image... lovely artwork!
