Description

Sorry, my first intention was to accompany this work with some thoughts regarding the "postwork" current arguments. But then I realized that most probably it´d be a completely waste of time. That everyone continues thinking in its own way; at the end, what counts, are the final results. Main figure is Michael 4; rest are several layers of brushes and photos, blended in Photoshop. Thanks.

Postwork sometimes is the only way to create impressive results. This is an example for very effective postwork. Bravo.

Awesome! Not only that you made this statement visually, but because of the effects you achieved using different tools. I've said once before out here and I'll say it again, that one of the first things I learned when I studied any art form was: the first rule is there are no rules. This is a shining example of that. : ) This is gorgeous. I second Roger60: Bravo!

Well you really needed no words to support your thesis other than to tell us that this was the intent. The old maxim that a picture is worth a 1000 words could not hold more true. I used to hate post work but now I cannot live without it. Even though my works no where approach this piece in terms of technical mastery, postwork is still essential for me to create the images I have in my mind. For some skilled persons, however, I have seen gorgeous complicated works with no post work. In the end it is the final product and the artists personal satisfaction, or not, with it that counts. Thanks for sharing this great image with us.

Excellent - and you do not even need words to make your point. What Brewgirlca said is the truth its all about the artist and their vision.

Fantastic scene and character, love the idea and presentation, someone once told me "that a picture without post work is not art," I have seen both sides, but do not see the argument, it is what you like and your viewers, any way enough of my blather, awesome work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As they say "the proof of the pudding is in the eating', and this is one delicious pudding:). Whatever it takes to convey the artists thoughts and feeling is appropriate. More please.

I haven't seen the latest blast of postwork critics but I always think that the only ones who knock it are the ones that can't do it (point, click,'make art button'). Anyhoo, regardless of arguments this is quite stunning !

At the end of the day, it's not the tools used that matter, but the product created. Whatever gets the job done effectively should be used. I think this picture makes your point quite well. Beautifully done!

Excellent artwork. Really great job on this. Personally, I think postwork can do some pretty powerful stuff and at the end of the day whether you use Vue, Poser, DAZStudio, Photoshop, GIMP or all of these in combination, what matters is the art that was produced.

an incredibly eloquent piece. and what i think stands out is how great the lighting is on his face, and how good this had to be as a portrait in the first place. your gallery is a perfect example of the range of uses for postwork. you have surreal blendings like this, photographic backgrounds, and works where if there's postwork, it's not readily obvious. i just love how you use photos to alter the texture of your images. and i know it's a small thing, but i really love how his hair catches the light. you do really beautiful, skilled work.
