Description

Morning all :o) I can`nt tell you much about this only that I have looked and searched the internet trying to find some info The closest I can get is that I believe he was a viking king called Olaf Haraldsson that attacked London by river in 1009 and tore down London Bridge ,hence the nursery rhyme .If anyone knows any different please let me know :o). I`m behind with a few of you again but will get caught up today .Thanks for looking and take care Mick

Great statue Mick, I was wondering where it was situated, I imagine that it would be on the side of a church or even St.Pauls. I like the connection to the Nursery Rhyme. very interesting.

Can't protect himself from the pigeons, though! Excellent clear and detailed picture, fascinating that there might be that connection.

A sign of the times with the netting, is it just to keep pigeons off though, or is it missiles thrown by idiots that it guards against. Strange to think he was made a Saint for ripping down London Bridge. #;0) Excellent capture Mick and thanks for the info on him. Bravo!!!!!

Formidable looking dude Mick! If he did indeed tore down London Bridge, I don't think I would want such a great statue of him...

Excellent capture mate, I shot this statue around five years ago, lost the pics now, it's a shame about the birdnet, it wasnt there when I shot it.

And he is still regarded as one very dangerous person, I see - they have him held captive behind a giant net! LOL Super shot.
