Description
John G Slover was my great grandfather and he made all the intricate wood work with a feet driven scroll saw which is still on the property
the Marguerite Rogers House Museum, built by John G. Slover in the early 1900's, is located at 113 East Dumble in Alvin, Texas. In 1938 James A. and Marguerite Rogers bought the house. The Rogers' daughter, Emaline, bequeathed the property to the Alvin Museum Society in 1995. The Society restored the home and named it Marguerite Rogers House Museum, in honor of Emaline's mother.
needless to say I was gone yesterday to Houston and Alvin Texas.I will try and catch up in the next couple of days

You must be very proud Richard, to have a family connection to this wonderful building, and to have a piece of your heritage on display here as well. Excellent capture and the B&W works perfect for this. Bravo!!!!!

This would all be very quaint if it were not for Aaron Burr before the Texas Independence and Steve Austin after the Civil War and that's just the Exacta for a Yankee with a gun. The Trifecta...
