Description

As the temperature drops and we get ever closer to the full grip of Winter,I thought I'd cast your mind back to those last days of Summer...the unbearable heat, the sounds of birds and insects in the trees, the babbling of a forest stream and the rustling of leaves already turning to the first shades of Fall. The terrains are custom, rendered in two phototextures from cgtextures.com that I made tileable. The trees, grass, rocks and water are all Bryce presets(the rocks are rendered in another texture from cgtextures.com),all mats were slightly customized. I was inspired by the forest images in Rutra's Vue Gallery, and was determined to arrive at something close in Bryce...hopefully I've succeeded! Thanks for viewing and your comments!

Very nice job! For a second there I thought you were using Vue, so yes, you've done well. Foliage looks great, especially under the water.

Would really like to be climbing that lushly landscaped hill, Neil. Especially like the play of light and shade you have created. Very well done, as always.

I'm glad I inspired you into this, it's a good image! I particularly like the composition. The ground texture looks great and I like the ripples on the water too. Maybe the shadows could be a little bit darker. Very good work!

Now that is what I call a Bryce scene, my hat is off to you...... A little tip here, I think a little correction on the contrast will give it more clarity. Tried it myself and it looks even more stunning.

WOW, unfortunately there are too many good things to say about this that I can't list them all. So I'm just going to tell you what I don't like about it ;P I'm blown away first off, great job the rocks in the for ground I find have a little too much moss on them, the texture is wonderful, but I feel there is too much moss and it distracts from the great detailing in the forground. The tree branches in the for ground as well, seem square, very blocky, almost flat. Other than that, its stupendous...
