Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This has a weird 3D effect I was NOT expecting, which is also a GREAT thing. I think it's the details of the bloom itself, against a background that's more color than form...whatever it is, it works brilliantly. Dark, rich purples are among my most absolute favorite colors and you've captured THOSE tones so incredibly well here...and the green/blue is a wonderful, entrancing accent.

Now I thought imediately of Deep Purple, but I see what you mean also.#;0) Excellent capture, and such a vibrant and rich colour, the top reminds me of our dark velvet curtains, Pauline always brings them out for the winter, she says it keeps the heat in. Superb work Marylin, are they still blooming or are these from earlier in the year. Bravo!!!!!

Glad to see you still have garden plants. It's a bit after the noon hour here and we've only reached 33 degrees. Brrrrr....
