Description

Standing there at the time I couldn't help but noticed how fast time was flying by. The sight of the fog crawling so fast up the ridge and mountain side was almost alarming. My past flashed before me; the future beckoned but all I wanted was to remain in the moment. But nothing is still, life is ever changing. This scene exists now only in this photo. The fog has long dispersed. The leaves have long since fallen off the trees. Perhaps a handful of trees have died and returned to the earth and of course new trees will have sprung from the earth to fight for their place in the thicket. Winter will soon be here then spring then summer and then fall once more. Such is the cycle of life. Until the pain of returning becomes too great I will return. Having experienced them, my life would always be incomplete when I'm away from The Smokies. Thanks for stopping by. Make it a great day!

Looks like a thousand souls are adrift in the fog. The mix of mountain ridges and fog is most unusual!

You have captured the fog very well here and I like the little story to go with it. I agree, nothing stays the same for long. The older I get the faster it changes.

The mountains never stop moving and shifting do they? There are places in our Sierras that do this sort of thing but I don't think they hold the mystery of the Smokeys. Stunning view.
