Description
Well I decided to do another 'microbe' piece. Just seemed like the right thing to do since I've been living with the things for a month now... Here, two microbes act out a scene from a Western. (Should see it full-size: The microbes are those big shiny things on either side of the 'gulch'.) Those streusel-like things are organisms. (Actually, they could be Christmas decorations, I'm just not sure microbes celebrate Christmas...)

I love the idea behind this, as well as it's realization. It's amazing, beautiful, and quite inviting to look at. The sense of color is what strikes me the most, there is so much an all of the nooks and crannies of this image, and it DOES have a wonderfully organic look to it. I've been on something of a microbe kick lately, and so this image just inspires me to go further into my artistic exploration of the microscopic world. I love it when artwork sparks this in me, it means that the art I've seen is fully effective, as this is. It's engaging work that challenges and rewards extended, multiple viewings.

Fun little work of art Mark and what a idea to feature the microbes in a western format. So don't keep us in suspense my friend, who ends up the victor ?

It really so beautiful. I think and hope these are the healing microbes, the winning part, because they look so triumphant. Well done :)

Its a jungle down there in the microbial universe! The struggle for existence goes on at every level. This is fine work, Mark. I see irony in the fact that you are depicting the most primitive organisms(perhaps symbolically?) using the perhaps most advanced product of evolution, the human mind and hand, and one of the most advanced creations of that mind, computer software.

Whatever Mark...I wish you Christmas decorations instead of microbes! Fantastic image, could be from a book I have with things seen through a microscope...those rainbow colors, beautiful!
