Description

Well, what can I say? It's a crank shaft. The building I work in has truck doors all along the back. There are several businesses in the building, and sometimes it's hard for truck drivers to know which is the right door. There's a machine shop approximately in the middle of the building, and they've hung a bright red crank shaft on the wall next to their delivery door as a marker. You can't miss it! I can't tell you how many times I've fussed with this image and given up. Finally, today, it all came together. Even if nobody else in the world likes this image, I'm happy with it now, so here it is! :)

I love this kind of photography/art...whoever says a crankshaft isn't good is either too blind or dogmatic to see that art everywhere...especially in unexpected places like...well...crankshafts. I love the brilliant red of this and the impression that it's half buried in snow. Great, brilliant work!
