Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It really IS delicious! :) (I had a little bit as a before bedtime snack ... if you want some, you better get in the kitchen before I go back for more!) This is a great shot of Trent. Nicely done!

What a fabulous portrait! I love the intimacy in the shot. And knowing what he's making is "icing on the cake." I love brie and I love cranberries more. I can easily imagine how awesome they would taste together.

Geoaskier...The worlds best chefs are men?...This is a fantastic shot, the against the textbook blown highlights serve to surround the subject well, giving an almost etherial glow, nice one Maz

it's a nice shot marilyn because you got a long sweep of the counter, with the right-end tapering into reflective shadows. Lovely feeling. Nice tonal variations too (the beiges & whites of the counter, and the sharp blacks of the walls & spaces around them). Sweet, reflective piece...As for fruited brie, I've had it with strawberries, and trust me, cranberries have gotta be better. (Not that you're interested, but last night I had 'hard' cheese, or that's what they called it: You could've sold that stuff to the Pentagon. I dropped a piece and there was a minor earthquake...) Anyway, a very thoughtful shot, reflective & caring about your subject, and you caught Trent in a thoughtful, absorbed pose. (next time you should upload the food...think about it. I'm sure there's a freeware that allows you to do it...)

Complete concentration on his work. Many men friends are very accomplished cooks and they find it great relaxation...and the results are so appreciated! Sounds excellent!

There is elegance galore in this shot and as stated above, it's a fantastic and intimate portrait. Okay, now for the nerdy part of my comment: it looks like there's a mughoe pine outside the window. I could be wrong, but I noticed it immediately; I grew up in a house that had those and I'd spend many a spring day watching the defensive ballet of sawfly larvae pretending to be pine needles. But anyway, all of that aside, this is a warm and inviting photo, and yeah, I'm gonna have to find a way to get some cranberry brie...I've never even heard of it!
