Description

Tonight's my last night here in Seattle and we took the ferry across Puget Sound to Whidbey Island. There we went to Tara's sister-in-law's house for Christmas cookie decorating. Course, there was a lot more talking, laughing, a bit of wine being drunk than actual decorating, but well, isn't that how it's done? At any rate, back to the ferry. I took this just as we left, as the ferry started to move. By leaning hard against a railing, I almost was able to keep things still. But I love how the water is so sharp and clear. Once we started to move--all bets were off!!

Those amber lights are beautiful. I love riding ferries. Short trip and I don't have to paddle the boat. LOL.

Did you meet any Naval Aviators? I guess they keep to themselves. Night ferry is something I don't know. You're filling a space, nicely.

You take care on that long drive back, sounds like you had plenty fun whilst you were there Marylin. That cookie decorating seems quite similar to Christmas Cake making, I always do ours the first week in November and we all do it together. Even though its night time it still has a warm glow to it. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!!

ohhhh your night shots are getting better and better....can't believe you caught this so well on the move!....I have been playing with night shots for couple months now...I still have soooooo much to learn...my daughter is getting a little ticked off at me tho...for going places that a lone woman maybe shouldn't go to at night.....She went into conniption fit when she saw my under the bridge night shot....I got in BIG trouble for that one!!!

Oooh, a night shot...and ah...it reminds me of the Vlatava (Gods, I love that river!) Anyway...this is superb, and you've got an eye for night shots...keep 'em coming. You have an eye for color too, and it shows here...the delicate sodium vapor orange is quite beautifully captured here, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to achieve, even harder if you're on a moving ferry! Great work!
