Description

This is the Last of 4 pieces I've done for RedDragon Ripper, for his Xeno-Wook request. - Work In Progess Blog Entry @ SWAG For this scene, as per RedDragon Ripper's original request, he wanted an Alien aka 'Xenomorph' covered in Wookie Fur; thus an Star Wars / Aliens crossover for his RPG game. I took on the request because it intriqued me, a new spin on the old but favorite starwars crossover xenomorph scenario. I had detailed all the steps of the process in my SWAG blog linked above. It was a challenge, but really fun to tackle and complete. And it also spurned 3 additional images that I felt compelled to make. In short, I did the fur first, then added 2 sets around the Alien, then just kept adding and adjusting as I saw fit. Including the final lighting version, the R5 astromech droid, the camera angle, and lastly the alien egg, and the eerily fog/mist on the ground that made its very own illuminative lighting properties to the scene that truly put the finishing touches and mood setting for the atmosphere... Created: June 25th, 2008 Materials & Setup: Intel Core2Quad Q6600, 2gb ram, Carrara 6.0 Original Resolution: 1500x1125. ~45 minutes render time Models: Level 19 by Stonemason, GFSC by Stonemason, Alien Drone by Antares (Franz Muenz) & converted by Virus Notes: No postwork save signature added to final render. Even the ground fog/mist and the glass control buttons are part of the original render process. Also used some custom shaders in lieu of the original textures: the Alien's fur, the coloring pattern for the Alien's fur, the fog/mist, control panel buttons If anyone would like, I can also post the first 3 images in this render set. This one is just the profile view of the XenoWook up close and personal to showcase Carrara's dynamic hair. Coloring the hair is my own custom shader. Thankyou for viewing. Comments, constructive criticism and opinions are always and especially welcome.

whoa... The great Mark Bremmer! I'm honoured! My skills been improving a bit since then, and I'll still have questions to ask in the forums regarding Carrara's finer points. Everything sofar has been trial and error, see what works - give it a shot, or try again if not. Mousson, Biffowitz - I'm glad you like them. Thankyou kindly. :) In the next 3 days I'll definitely upload the first three that go with this set. Theres a little story that goes with this in those images.
