Description
BUY THIS CAR!!!
Fifty-seventh in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California.
For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08.
Here is the old luxury auto, similar to the one I posted on 11/30/08, but for some reason stripped down to its bare bones chassis and power source. I have no idea what the two cylindrical tanks at the front and rear are for.
The dashboard, engine and electromagnetic transmission on tap for tomorrow.
For extensive history and particulars on this automobile, see my posting for November 30, 2008.
Thanks for popping in, and have a torrid Tuesday.

Those cylinders look like they might be shock absorbers or even for compressed air. Since the springs act through them in series and not parallel they must have a spring constant and not just a damping terma as they would if mounted in parallel. In today's world they might be magneto-strictive to set ride height.

Can you imagine travelling in one of these from point A to B - let's say 50 miles. My bum get blisters just thinking of it. It is still in excellent condition and clearly well cared for and loved. Wonderful images Harry!!!

From the high gloss paint on the frame, I wouldn't be surprised to see that this motorized chassis is displayed this way at some home museum. Another excellent set of shots for your series. Bill

Perhaps those cylinders are thermos flasks for tea? No, probably not.... It's so clean and shiny, I guess this is like us wearing brand new clean underwear. Nice to see the bare basics of this one -- great shots!

Looks like it came rolling out of the showroom today, nice work Harry. Glad to see the return of the white line straddled avatar!

Most fascinating mobil. I am sure the owner is praying for sun and not rain when he like to take this car out for a run. Very open design.
