Stunning stark mood .. awesomely caught and presented. A stunted, twisted soul, a dark tortured mood. Yet gnarled trees are beautiful

This unusual image brings the book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift to mind. I will never forget the illustration of dozens and dozens of Lilliputians tying Gulliver to the ground while he slept. Neat picture Nikolay. Bill

Some have felt human presence here, and I can see that. To me though, the tree is dramatic all by itself. (Maybe I'm missing something, and it won't be the first time!) It's dramatic & piercing but it also feels fresh. I'm not sure what I mean by 'fresh' except that it's like a view no one has ever seen before, like it just bubbled out of the earth, and it's twisting its way to the heavens...Also, it looks as if another image is faintly superimposed on it, which I like (one part, near the top, it looks like the ghost image of a hand, like some ancient glyph or maybe someone who tried to hold on): Whether it is or not, it has the feeling of a ghost living inside it, which trees can feel like. Presenting it against a stark-white background gives it a real 'solo' sense, a "one-man-show" (or a "one-tree-show"). It's got real presence Nikolay, and that's something I realize all your work does. A presence that commands its space and burns itself into our perceptions immediately. Fine piece of work.
