Description

Many parts of the North of the UK has been hit with snow today, I looked out this morning expecting the predicted blizzard conditions, Nothing just rain rain rain. Manchester has missed out which is great for people getting to work but not for me waiting with my camera lol. So here is one I took two days ago! Taken Tuesday morning Dec2 2008 on top of the carpark of the shopping centre 5 minute walk from my door. Thanks for all your support..enjoy your day!

Black headed gull in winter markings ,unusual conditions for Manchester but as you say back to normal. Same here in Grantown, just cold rain. And like yourself I was hoping for white stuff because lately i have run out of in spiration for new pics.

Great shot! I like how he stands out against the darker background of the building behind him. It sure looks nasty weather you are having, rain, snow!! We've got rain here today. At the moment I can hardly tell the difference between summer and winter!

I was expecting more snow today as well the weathermen never get it right. My brother in Littleborough says its snowing there but he's a bit closer to the Pennines and higher up than we are. We used to say 'It's two overcoats colder up Littleborough than it is in Rochdale' So I guess that would be three colder than Middleton. Lol. The Police Station bottom right Warrick Mill in the background. Great shot Alan, fantastic clarity, I hope you were stood underneath the canopy when you took this. I was thinking of going up Blackstone Edge but I can hardly walk today, so I will be giving that a miss. Excellent work mate. Bravo!!!!! Hope to see you tomorrow.

We've been giving these gulls a lot of publicity lately...but they seem to enjoy mingling with people so they've earned the attention. He looks like a soldier at attention. Nice shot. Bill
