Description

Went on a trip out with a few other members of our Friday club to a Dickensian Festival at Grassington. Grassington is a quaint little village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales with the old tradditional shops. The perfect setting for a Dickensian Festival. It wasn't a Photography day out but lucky for me most of the other members of the party wanted to browse the shops so I had A few minutes at a time on my own to explore what was going on and to mingle between the crowds. I'm thinking this could be a good time to upload a whole series from the day. Taken Dec 6th 2008

Street urchins of yesteryear. Cute kids. Both my daughters have played parts dressed as Dickensian characters...lots of fun. Look forward to more. Bill

The lad far right is a natural for Oliver Twist, and the lad with the top hat for the other young lad, the leader of Fagans gang of thieves, and for the life of my I can't remember his name. The girl far left just doesn't cut it with that red zip up fleece, although she looks to have a waist coat underneath it, I guess it was rather cold up in Grassington though Alan. She needed the fleece for extra warmth. Fair play to all four of them for getting into the spirit of the thing. Excellent capture mate, I'm sorry I didn't come with you, but I was bad this weekend so its happen as well I didn't. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

What a cute bunch of street urchins... they are almost perfect except for the poor little tart to the left who looks like she was freezing her willies. Ah, you darn Brits are soooo lucky to have a culture that lets you do this with authenticity!
