Description

Sunday was wash day in Swaziland. Families were busy doing their laundry in the river... mom, dad, boys and girls... On the left hand side of the image you can see some washing spread over some bushes to dry. We both found it fascinating... The scene was just so peaceful... with the cows grazing in the background and the beautiful mountain keeping an eye on the activities!!! Thank you for popping in and for your very valued comments and favs on my previous image. Hugs, Carin xx

Awesome awesome awesome. We have so much to be thankful for... washing machines, tumbledriers....Me we all be blessed in this Christmas time and let our hearts and hopes and prayers are with those who have almost nothing... May they have joy and peace...is'nt that something we all wish for?

Looks like a couple of them stopped what they were doing to have a look at you Carin. #;0) Things we take for granted here in the Western World, electricity and modern washing machines, we have no need to carry our clothes to the local stream. No need to wet them and scrub them against the rocks in the river bed, just pop them in the washer and put detergent in press the button and its all done for you. No need to find a bush to hang them out to dry, stick them in the auto dryer walk away and come back later when they are done. No need to tramp a couple of miles to the watering hole for drinking water, just turn on the tap, it's already there. Thought provoking photography Carin, I like it when an image makes you stop and think, makes you take stock of what you have against those less fortunate. Simple people like this, and they are cleaner and take more pride in their appearence than some in the Western world. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
