Who designed those fence rails so horses could hook their noses over them exactly? I think they were made to be easy for cowboys to leap over. Yet the horses insist it was they who set the height.

I love the responses here, and yeah he appears a bit sad. But there's also some of your subtle humor here, the way you caught him with his head over the fence as if he's vying for our attention by looking a little sad & abandoned...Really nice composition and visual attitude, Lynell. And the monochrome brings out the big presence of his head and stark white coloring. (It also puts the fence & him in perfect harmony.) Fine choices, a fine direct shot, and I swear there's a bit of hamming it up from the horse—like after the shoot you said, "oookay, we got it, you're sad, now go back to work..." Another fine shot from you, mixed with just the right amount of humor & love for your subject.
