Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Hey great capture, love the way you left plenty of room for him/her to fly.

And we have lift off, firing thrusters #1 and #2 and now #3. Cool Shot of a Gull that is Able!!!!

the composition is all water and open space, and the bird is in bright whites & grainy blues, and those blues harmonize with the water & the grain makes him seem made of air as much as of body, which suits his flight head on. A nice looming pov, restful too, and it feels very painterly. (Poor joke: A biologist who studied egrets all his life was asked if he liked his work, and he said: "Hey, I got no egrets!") (sorry...)

Well caught for an inpromtu shot, these muvas are quite fast once they get aloft, so I'd say you did a great job!.

Has someone upset Ronnie? having a go at Canon's and Nikon's lol.#;0) Excellent capture Marylin, I can just see you pedalling along the riverbank, your Fuji swinging from your neck, a screech of brakes camera to eye snap one off. Sometimes I wish I could still ride a bike as I used to like cycling along the canal bank. since I had my knee cap removed I cannot do a full turn of the pedals with my right leg. It just won't bend enough. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Has he filed his flight pattern? Wonderful movement you have captured.

They do have a most interesting appearance in flight. Not very graceful getting off the water/ground but with long legs trailing behind, they have a wonderful grace about them.
