[Please click on image for full size] Xeno-Wook Invasion Series: - Xeno-Wook [The Xeno-Wook Invasion of L19] - Xeno-Wook [Something Dark is Coming] - Xeno-Wook [Report] - Xeno-Wook Invasion of L19 [Profile] For this scene, as per RedDragon Ripper's original request, he wanted an Alien aka 'Xenomorph' covered in Wookie Fur; thus an Star Wars / Aliens crossover for his RPG game. I took on the request because it intrigued me, a new spin on the old but favourite starwars crossover xenomorph scenario. It was a challenge, but really fun to tackle and complete. And it also spurned a few additional images that I felt compelled to make. In short, I did the fur first, then added 2 sets around the Alien, then just kept adding and adjusting as I saw fit. Including the final lighting version, the R5 astromech droid, the camera angle, and lastly the alien egg, and the eerily fog/mist on the ground that made its very own illuminative lighting properties to the scene that truly put the finishing touches and mood setting for the atmosphere... Notes: No postwork save signature added to final render. Even the ground fog/mist and the glass control buttons are part of the original render process. Also used some custom shaders in lieu of the original textures: the Alien's fur, the coloring pattern for the Alien's fur, the fog/mist, control panel buttons, and metal parts of the R5 Astromech droid. Materials & Setup: Intel Core2Quad Q6600, 2gb ram, Carrara 6.0 Original Resolution: 2048x1536. ~45 minutes render time Models: Level 19 by Stonemason, GFSC by Stonemason, Alien Drone by Antares (Franz Muenz) & converted by Virus, R5 Astromech by JCHoagland(@ www.vanishingpoint.biz) Thankyou for viewing, and for patiently waiting for this hinted peice. Hopefully it puts the other 3 images into better perspective. I purposely uploaded them here in this order to build up to this scene. Comments, constructive criticism and opinions are always and especially welcome. Enjoy :)

Thx! Yeah, the fur is Carrara's dynamic hair... theres virtually no limit what you can apply it on... It can bog down the scene if your still working on the scene, positioning and fine tuning. Theres a couple ways around it - leave the fur for later, make the character with fur in it's own project then import later, or simply hide the fur from view until your ready to test it or do the final render. Good to hide the fur also when doing sample renders.

Yeah the fur looks great, sweet backlighting on him too. I like the mood and the anticipation of what's to come!
