Description

Hi Friends... Back to Swaziland tonight... This hut is rather huge but old and needs a bit of a paint job... However, the very artistic way in which it is decorated is beautiful. This is one of two similar huts that forms part of the market where the Swazi folks sell their arts and craft. Allow me also to explain the red 'ring' around the bottom. That was stained by rain dripping on the red spoil and then splashing onto the wall. Someone commented on one of my previous Swaziland uploads that the foreground (soil) was over saturated. This is actually the real color of the soil... I have never seen it quite so red anywhere else... Thank you for popping in and for your very valued and treasured comments and favs on the birthday image for Ray last night. Hugs, Carin xx

Must be a lot of iron or ochre in the earth there. I bet it is marvelous. Walking barefoot much produce a lovely foot as well. :-) This building does have a lot of charm - even without the head, I like the stairs and friendly greeting painted around the doorway. Outstanding shot.

Australian outback sweetie, equally as red, but never mind that, you did a fantastic job on this one Carin, and it's going in my faves. I love the compo and most of all the rich tones and colours!

I wish I could make time one day to visit your country, and see how diverse and rich of its past and traditions it is. This is a superb and colourful photo, Carin, just as South Africa is.

This is a wonderful capture in so many way. I got use to red dirt in australia here is everything red and do like it so for me this is a realy delight to see a strong coloration of the white wall. My mum has a wall hanger with a very similar head on it. Brings back good memories.

Hut sut ralston on the rillarah. Fine clarity, color variety and POV in this shot of the uniquely decorated edifice, Carin. Too bad about the red dirt stain at the base of the structure. It's whitewash time in Swaziland!
