UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great shot Starman. Once was a song, "Blue Moon" -- Though your scientific photographic image you have brought that thought to light and proved it is not made of Green Cheese. Thanks. Have a good one. Skipper

Bill, this is a fantastic shot!

Excellent Image. I see you used a fast shutter speed and ISO 200: were those "automatic?" I'm still trying to learn more of ISO settings, but wouldn't a slower shutter and ISO 100 given even more detail? Cold here in Oklahoma, but this close December moon would have been keen to stare at while flat on your back in an open field.

This is the kind of moon that brings out werewolves and vampires. Splendid clarity in this capture of the crater-filled moonscape, Bill, and I also like the blue hue. You must have used one of your high-powered lenses and mounted the camera on a tripod for this exquisite shot.

You've done really well, my friend. RAW is still a mystery to me. But whatever works is fine. It certainly brought out the details. We are STILL clouded and rained in here! Nothing changes. Hope its a better year next one!!! Rob.

Great shot Bill and great information. It is on my 'to do' list. Last winter when I was in O-gau I went several times to Reutte (Austria) to get cheaper gas. Driving from the turn-off Oberammergau-Ettal toward Graswang and Linderhof there was a lot of cross-country sking. BTW, I posted a picture of Kloster Ettal about a year ago that was taken in Dec 2005. A German Add Agency contacted me and wanted to know if they could use the picture in their catalogue. It will be featured in their Travel Catalogue for ADAC of Southern Bavaria. My cousin Gundi sings in the choir in Ettal and I went there for the midnight mess in 2005/2006 and almost froze to death. No heating in that place. The monks brew their own beer and I got some 'Ettaler Heidelbeer Liqeur', also made by the monks. Great business men those monk, Sig...
